Hospital is looking for a dedicated Pediatric Neurology APP to join the team. This role will be full-time Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.
Inova Children's Neuroscience Program is uniquely qualified to evaluate and treat neurological conditions from birth through adolescence.
Combining the expertise of Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital with the specialty knowledge of
Inova Neurosciences , the program features a full complement of board-certified specialists who cover all aspects of inpatient and outpatient care from diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation and long-term follow-up.
The combined specialized expertise of Inova Children's pediatric neurologists, pediatric neurosurgeons, pediatric critical care physicians, pediatric hematologist/oncologists, pediatric neuropsychologists, pediatric psychiatrists forms the foundation of care excellence. Beyond this clinical care, extensive ancillary services and programs help children and families throughout their experience. Child Life specialists, social workers, physical, occupational and speech therapists, nutritionists and support groups all contribute to the care experience.

Pediatric Neurology APP Job Responsibilities: - Evaluate, diagnose, and manage pediatric patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Perform comprehensive neurological assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe and monitor medications in accordance with state regulations and clinical guidelines.
- Provide patient and family education regarding neurological conditions, treatment plans, and disease management.
- Collaborate with pediatric neurologists and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate comprehensive, family-centered care.
- Document clinical encounters accurately and maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and professional development activities.
Pediatric Neurology APP Minimum Qualifications: - Education: Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post masters certificate program for nurse practitioners, OR certificate from an education program that is accredited by the Council of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs/Schools, American College of Nurse Midwives, American Association of Colleges of Nursing of the National League for Nursing. For physician Assistants, graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program and certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- Experience: No experience required
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) and (PALS) upon start
- Licensure: Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner; If Nurse Practitioner: RN Compact License(depending on State of primary residence) AND a license (or eligibility for) as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia AND a "Practice Agreement" signed by sponsoring/ supervising physician(s), AND a written "Scope of Practice/Protocol" signed by the supervising physician, AND "Drug Enforcement Administration License" (if prescribing controlled substances)
- Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
- Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience: 1+ years APP experience in Pediatric Neurology
